en What Urban Meyer and his staff did this season was so impressive. They have filled all their needs and that's the most important factor. But they did this with some great players. This class is also so well balanced from top to bottom.

en When you look back, this might be the worst class he ever signed because he didn't have a lot of time to recruit. But if you think about what he did at Nebraska and the quality players he recruited, he should do well for Buffalo. Florida didn't do as well under Urban Meyer in his first year and neither did Notre Dame with Charlie Weis. It's usually that second class where you see results.

en It's a great program and (Florida) is going to do great things under coach Urban Meyer , but it wasn't the right place for me.

en Bottom line is, we've got better players and a better coaching staff this season. We need to take it as a personal and collective challenge to be better than we were last season and from the guys I've been talking to this summer, I think we are going to do that.

en I thought that with Urban Meyer coming in here and the reputation he has, as far as looking for disciplined individuals, I kind of thought Cam would get a lucky break. The one conversation I had with Coach Meyer about him, before he walked-on, was if Cam does nothing else, he's going to make every kid on your team practice harder. I think that's one of the things he brings to the program.

en I don't know whether we can or not. We've been competitive with many of our players who've chosen to stay in MLS. We can put competitive offers on the table. Of course money is always a factor, but I think for most kids it isn't the most important factor. The most important factor is putting yourself in a position that your career can be what you want it to be.

en From top to bottom, I think this class could be one of the best in program history. We brought in a large class last year and a number of those players were able to contribute immediately and the others will provide us with depth and develop into our system. This year, we backed up that class with possibly even a stronger group. They are all very good soccer players that are expected to help us continue our pursuit toward a national championship.

en We enter this season with great anticipation because of all the talent that we have returning to our team. Our players have worked really hard to prepare for this season. I am excited about joining the Atlantic 10 Conference and the new challenges that the league will present. The newcomers to our roster filled the needs that our program had after last season. Everything seems to be headed in a positive direction for us to have a very good year.

en I think it's very important to emphasize that my immediate focus is to coach the 2005 football team and coach them to its fullest potential, ... The thing that I share with the players ... that I would guarantee them that they will have a great effort and great preparation and tremendous focus from myself and our entire staff. They deserve that because they've worked so hard in preparation for this season, and we will not let them down.

en Not a lot of guys in their career win 50 games. It's a new team and a new staff from top to bottom. To come in and put up 50 wins in a season I think that's a great confidence booster for the time that everyone is here.

en I can honestly say that we as the coaching staff tried to impress upon the players beforehand that victory was not the most important thing in this first game. In this competition you can get lucky and win here and there, but if you don't start to consistently produce quality high-class performances, then you go nowhere.

en The U.S. players are ahead of us in the world rankings, they have major winners which is a significant factor, ... We do have a more balanced team in Europe for the first time. I think in the past we have tried to play five or six players against 12 U.S. players, whereas this time around I think we are going to try and play 12 against 12 which is a new experience.

en There are two components. It's a process that keeps our organization filled with talented players because we have excellent people involved in scouting and the minor league system. The second part is Bobby Cox and his coaching staff, who take this talent wherever it comes from and blends it as effectively as any staff in the major leagues can do.
