I just remember they ordtak

en I just remember they whipped our behinds. I knew it was going to happen before the game even started. I think most guys did, too. A lot of guys didn't care. They thought, 'Oh, we're just playing Iowa.' It felt like they didn't deserve to be here anyway.

en At that time, I don't think it was humbling at all. Like I said, guys didn't care. You didn't care if you got whipped. Nobody was embarrassed after the game. It wasn't anything. Guys were just ready to get it over with, go home and start a new year.

en Saturday was disheartening because I felt like our guys didn't believe at the end of the game [against Michigan]. One good thing is, we're not worried about who we're playing. It's tough going to Illinois. But I think we showed at Iowa that if we can get ourselves together, we can play.

en We were hoping to get a couple of other guys through to Madison, but it just didn't happen. We knew Brad was going to do well, but we thought a couple of other guys might get through, too. It just didn't happen. But we're very pleased that Brad is going back to state.

en I was disappointed with our effort. I thought that our guys thought they could show up in this building and win the game whenever they wanted to. We didn't take care of the basketball. We didn't share the basketball. We didn't do a good job of defending. They beat us from top to bottom. They deserved to win.

en I did wonder whether it would happen or not. Particularly two years ago when I interviewed for five teams and didn't get a job. I felt if it didn't happen this year, it probably wouldn't. But I was resolute and confident with where I was. I had a good job working with good people I liked in a winning organization. A lot of guys are looking for that. If it didn't happen, I would have just continued to do what I was doing.

en The transition took place long before you guys knew it, ... Look at the game last year. I was playing more than him toward the end of the season. The change happened before the announcement. You guys just didn't know it.

en It was my first camp as a starter. I'll always remember that, just because I have been waiting for this my entire life. I felt like I really grabbed hold of the team. I didn't know how they were going to respond to me. I knew I had a lot of friends out here, and I knew I had a good rapport with a lot of them, but I'm just really pleased with how the guys have my back.

en It didn't really hit me until the guys started congratulating me. Certainly it's something you're going to remember, the way the guys came back. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through.

en Charles doesn't care if the game is physical. But some guys respond differently. I thought after our practices last Friday and Saturday that Hill and Townes were ready to play like All-Americans. That's what I expected to see Sunday, but it didn't happen.

en I expected him to be here and be ready to play. It just didn't happen. I thought our guys played hard. I thought our guys hung in there during a tough situation.

en It was close but no cigar and we're not happy with that anymore. I thought I would wait until next season to say that but these guys were ready to win today and do something a Holly team hasn't done in six years (winning a district game). These guys were on the ropes and were scared but we didn't make it happen.

en I didn't start thinking it was a good ride until there were about 3 or 4 minutes left. It's tough playing your last game. I am very proud of the guys, every single one of them. We had a hell of a season with that rough start (0-6) but we stuck together. We expected to make it past this game. That didn't happen tonight.

en We played the way I think we should be playing all the time. I thought our guys were into the game. I thought our guys had some energy out there for long periods of time. Where there's an emptiness in our gut because we didn't get the win, I can live with that fact that we're not quite good enough, but we played to the best of our ability.

en I actually didn't say anything, but a few of the guys spoke and we knew that momentum was going to be the key. I don't think you can sit down and plan to chase 434 runs. No one considers that. We spoke about this being a freaky game and we thought that if we could get momentum anything could happen.
