Running without Valerie was ordtak

Running without Valerie was certainly a factor in this race. However, I believe the girls ran pretty well. Even running without Val, our team average time was better than last year at this race. You have to be excited about that.

I am very pleased with our performance today. I wasn't sure what to expect. We have only had one speed workout this year. We've been working a lot on mileage. I thought the girls ran great. Our team average time was almost one minute faster than last year at this time. You have to be excited about that. This was the first varsity race for two of our girls. I thought they did an outstanding job for their first race. Once they get some experience under them, we will be much better. We are running great right now. This will be a good year.

It was a little bit different because I'm not used to running the race. Each race is different in terms of strategy. The night before, my coach and I went down a race strategy and we talked about it before I ran. I kept that in my mind while I was running and I pretty much just stuck to it to get to my goal time.

I've watched him race a long time and I don't mean him any disrespect, but if he comes here to race, that's none of our concern. I couldn't even tell you what he's running, how he's running.

All of the girls got great racing experience running with a lot of good kids. (In) a lot of races in the mountains, the girls get into running by themselves, but in this race, they had people all around them.

Running both series helped me in a bunch of ways. The first thing is I just got to race more. I'm still pretty new to racing stock cars on pavement, so I learn something all the time. The other thing is that it's just fun. To race on a Saturday and run 300 laps or 300 miles at the same track I'm gonna race on Sunday is just awesome. The result last year in Las Vegas was definitely a big team effort, ... The engineering office definitely spent a lot of time thinking about what was going to be the best option especially for the race setup because it was pretty easy flat and everybody was able to make it easy around the place. It was about having the proper amount of downforce and being able to go through traffic with your foot on the floor and that's what we achieved and we had a really spectacular 1-2 with very exciting finish of the race. But I'm not too excited to try and do that again it's just really nerve racking. We'll see what happens but it was quite a race and hopefully it's going to be easier this year but I'm not quite sure about that really.

Last year was a bad experience, ... It was my first time really running rounds, especially with big name people. I had to race Gatlin twice, made me look pretty bad.

I remember running the race in the snow, then getting sunburn after the race. It's typical for it to be pretty chilly in the morning, but we're not overly concerned.

After I'm out of [Cup], I'll probably race more because I'll have more weekends, ... I mean, instead of running one race on a weekend, I can be somewhere else running three.

I like Brno, Motegi, Sepang, Qatar... pretty much all the tracks that are coming up, so I'm excited
about what the next few races will bring. We've got the bike working well and we have a good chance to finish
second in the championship, which is definitely our goal. Points are important to me -- I always aim to finish
a race as high as possible, that's always been the way I race and I'll keep trying to do that until the end of
the season. At the same time it would be great to win a race...so I'm going to try for both!

For the mile (1,600) I felt pretty good running the race like that. I was even more nervous for the 800, but I knew if I felt bad after running that mile time then I'd be concerned, but I was more awake and warmed up, so it was good.

It's always a tricky race to call with the tactics, ... This race has been different every year. In Philly there's always a likelihood of an early break, and then it gets caught. It's pretty typical. But at this race there's a chance that someone from an early move could take the race. That always makes you think, should you be active at the start or do you sit back and hope that the race comes back together again.
