en I got the ball down in the zone after that first inning. It's more about feeling comfortable physically and mechanically.

en For whatever reason, mechanically wise or something, I couldn't get the ball down in the zone, especially in the first two innings. Everything I seemed to throw was up in the zone, middle of the plate.

en I feel great physically, which is why (this stinks) because I've battled so long to get to feeling good. It's the best I've felt on the mound since 2004. ... It's just a matter of getting back to what I'm good at - that's throwing the ball down in the zone.

en Tommy looked fine. He had only two walks and located the ball well. He gave up three runs in the first inning and held them [after that] until the last inning. en The home run ball to Jason Lane was four inches off of the ground. It was a good pitch but he was able to put the bat on the ball, get it elevated and get it out. I might have been just a hair up in that inning but I was still aggressive in the strike zone.

en We gave up six runs in one inning (fourth) and that really hurt. We hit three batters, had two walks, a passed ball and they got two hits. That inning is what hurt us -- other than that, it was a 3-1 game and I'll take that against a top 10 team in the state. We should be feeling better about how we can compete.

en He looked really good the first inning, he was getting his breaking ball over. Then he kind of lost his feel for the strike zone.

en I'm swinging at everything. It's a matter of calming down, getting relaxed and looking for a pitch in the strike zone. ... Once I get more comfortable, more relaxed at the plate, I'm going to see the ball in the strike zone and have a better chance to hit it.

en Guzman was up in the strike zone the first two innings way too much and paid for it. He settled down after the second inning and really pitched well, the way he needs to, keeping the ball down consistently.
