They play the 'You are desperate' game. If the Chargers want to trade up to the eight-to-10 range, I think you're going to have to give away a very high pick from the next year or two and a No. 3 along with it. If you want to get up in the first five picks, you'd have to give up next year's No. 1 (in addition to this year's No. 1).

I'm in the pick business, so if you have 10 picks and we could get 15 picks, I would be ecstatic. But you have to have somebody else to trade with. I just think its a deep draft. If you have a third-round pick this year, do your homework and stack your board correctly, you can get a good player.

They can assume anything they want. I'm not. I just told my wife yesterday that I need to have a good year so someone will give me a job and I can play again next year. That's my thinking. If I do well enough, maybe I get to play again. I love it. It's fun. I'm not ready to give it up.

Look at the (San Diego) Chargers last year. They went from 4-12 to 12-4. Who knows? Anybody can do it in any given year. That's the reason why you play the game, and it's the reason why players and the fans love it.

There were posters all over the school about the team. Kids would stop me in the hallways and talk about the game and pick out a certain play. School spirit was at an all-time high this year. The boys basketball team came to games when they had open dates. Both teams haven't always gotten along, but this year they were behind us. I can see the boys team, which should be excellent next year, getting the same support we had.

They're a fun team to watch and we're going to have to be ready to play. Last year is history. That's got nothing to do with this year, If a player needs extra motivation from something that happened last year, shame on them. Every time (the ball) goes up, you have to play like it's your last game. So I don't think last year should have any bearing on what we do this year.

To get a game like this under our belts and play hard, to challenge a high-caliber team like Prairie and give them a good run for their money definitely will help us out (today, in a loser-out game against Puyallup). And it says a lot about what we can do next year.

You can't pick the night you're going to play bad. I give a lot of credit to Westerville (Central), but that was probably as bad as we've played all year. We didn't play very well.

The last time I had a run like this was probably my senior year in high school. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen. We've lost so many close games this year that we just needed to give ourselves a chance.

This year's unclaimed prize money will be added to next year's, and that alone should boost the number of entrants. This is an exciting start. I have a lot respect for Johnnie and how he handled himself this season. He played more than I would have liked him to this year. I think his body started to give out late in the year. I didn't intend for him to play as many snaps, but Arnaz got hurt. I envisioned him at about 20 snaps per game.

Ultimately, this is the type of situation where I can play my best football and inspire the people around me. Don't tell me that what the San Diego Chargers did last year -- or what the Rams did in 1999 -- two teams won't do next year. And we could definitely be one of those teams.
