I wasn't comfortable last night. I think it's going to be a challenge for me all week. I don't try to deny anything, but maybe my game will start feeling a little better as the week goes along. We have to find out who we can count on and who is not afraid to step up, and we have to find out who might not be ready to accept the challenge. We are going to be presented with a real challenge this week. Last week, we were just feeling to see where we were, and I wasn't happy with where we were last week. Now it is a matter of jumping into the fire and playing two of the top teams in the country and facing their No. 1 (pitchers). It is a great challenge for sure.

The first week, I dwelled on my stats. This week, in the second half, that helped me out. I didn't worry about it. I'm feeling more comfortable every week.

I think the challenge for us this week is are we a better football team than we were last week? As many good things as we did in the N.C. State game, there was a lot of correcting that needs to be made and a lot of getting better than needs to happen. I believe ... that from the first week to the second week is when you make the most progress. And we have to take advantage of that situation here.

It's not really a surprise. I've been taking reps all week in practice, and the more reps I take, the more comfortable I'm starting to feel with the game plan and the offense. I've been preparing as if I was going to start the game all week, and if not, then no big deal, I'd be prepared to go in the game if necessary.

I was excited that the game kind of opened up, and I was able to see where I fit in. I wasn't necessarily feeling that earlier in the week. We were really spaced, and the game kind of flowed (Saturday) night.

This was a good start to the week. Wouldn't it have been terrible to come off this game 0-1 [in district] and then have to play Waco on Saturday? It's still going to be a challenge, but at least you go into it feeling good about yourself.

Feeling more comfortable about the upcoming economic rebound, the financial markets relaxed a bit this week. With the market more settled this week, interest rates on fixed-rate mortgages eased this [week] to the lowest rate in five weeks.

Every year's a new challenge. Every game's its own separate entity. We just have to work through every game. It's a learning experience. People get frustrated when we lose, but we've been here before. And this week's a challenge; we don't get a week off. It's 10 weeks of a meat-grinder, but that's they way we want it. We like games like this. Our kids play well in games like this.

The key is to get out (and score) early. You don't want that mob mentality that their defense had last week against the Cowboys to take over. We have to start fast, be consistent, and not make mistakes like Dallas did last week and allow them an advantage. It's a difficult challenge, but we're up for it.
