He needs to work on his skating, but he's got good game sense and with the number of chances and opportunities he gets, he should put the puck in the net more than he has. But his work ethic and overall play this year is solid. He took the opportunity and ran with it and did a good job. He's earned it.

We have to adjust our defense to a certain play. We've done it every year since I've been here. It was really ridiculous, the call. You can't blame a game on the ref. You can't do it. It was just really weird to have that call happen because if you adjust your defense you have to do it. What do you want us to do?

It was a variety of things. They came out with a little bit different scheme and some things we had to adjust to. And as the game went on in the second and fourth quarter, we were able to adjust to them and had some things work out for us.

I kept looking for a combination that would work. I was looking for five players who would score and stay in front of ball on defense. I couldn't find it.

Defensively, it was the big play again. Two big plays in the first half and that just really hurts you. We got a lot of things to work defensively. We just need to work on becoming better football players.

This has been one of my most challenging years. We had to play a completely different style. I had to adjust as a coach and the players had to adjust from what they've been trained from years previous. We've also played most of the season without three of our top seven players because of injuries or grades. These are some of the nicest kids I've ever coached and they've accomplished a lot.

Offensively it was atrocious. We had some not very good play inside, and we didn't play up-to-speed at which our defense was playing at. We looked too big and too sluggish. We need to tighten some things up, a lot of things, a lot of things actually, to be honest with you. We were out of rhythm so we have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball, a lot of work to do.

I'm disappointed at some of the chances we gave in the second half. These are the things we have to tidy up, ... Don't get me wrong. I'm very pleased with the result but we have to play better team defense going up and that's something we're going to work on.

It forces you to adjust. You've got to prepare for T.J., and his style. Warrick and his style and the things I can account for. It just puts a burden on a defense. It makes them have to work that much harder to be alert for different things, and that's to our advantage.

We need as much of this as we can get, just to learn how to play the game, ... It's obvious that we have a lot of players that don't know how to play the game right now. This was a combination of some really good defense and some really bad offense.

In the first half they were playing a zone and we were tearing it up. When they came out in a man (defense) in the second half, we had to adjust.
