en We are really still learning in the Indy cars on the road circuit, ... Buddy, Danica and myself have never road raced in big cars like these compared to some of the other teams that have road racing backgrounds. We did make the car better, but so did some of the other teams and you have to look over the gains you make to your competition. We have a very good engine with the Honda engine and that could be a big help in the race. Buddy's car is much improved and we'll see how that works for the race. I like my car for the race right now, but we can still make it better. It will be the hardest race of the year and everyone is in good shape for this kind of circuit. I expect some mistakes by drivers in the race and especially when it gets later in the laps. If you are tired physically, you will make mental mistakes too.

en That's what makes our sport so unique. You can sit there and watch it on TV, and you get more of the perspective of the pit strategy and the way the guys are passing each other out on the track. Then when you come to the race, you lose a little bit of that, but you can still see live what's going on, and you can get a scanner and hear the teams and what transmissions go back and forth. And you have the smell, you've got the sight, the feel. When cars come by at 200 miles an hour, it blows you away.

en The drivers who just don't get out of the way influence the outcome of world championships. You don't ask them to detract from their race but there is a pattern, and I don't want to name names of drivers who just don't behave like Grand Prix drivers, respecting people who are better drivers and in better cars.

en Calling two tires there under green, that was a pretty bold move, ... I'm just happy to see out sport is so equal, to see the 12 and the 20 race for position, and me and the 17, after 300 laps, to race for position like that is pretty incredible.

en To get the cars all equal, they have to weigh the same. Now the cars are all within 5-10 pounds, and that's pretty good. I believe we are over the hump, and by [this] evening, you'll see a darn good race. We'll have some passing.

en The drivers and the teams need to work things out. We understand that this is a high-emotion sport. It's pretty clear we're going to take this out of the drivers' hands and put it into our hands.

en It's a lot of fun racing IROC. The concept is pretty neat. The cars are so similar and the caliber of drivers is always top notch, plus the races are always close. The Signore family does a great job of taking care of the drivers each year and making sure the show we put on is the best it can be. I'm looking forward to it this year. Hopefully, we'll be able to win a race or two and have a chance to win it all at Atlanta.

en I think the biggest thing is gaining the respect from all the guys who are already there. And the Cup cars are a lot different from what they've been driving. That's challenging. Longer races. When to race and not to race. All stuff you have to learn, and it takes a while to learn it. It worked out for us pretty well. A lot of the drivers can make that transition. But you just never know.

en It's special, because over the years this race has grown. It started small, but the Seymour family has worked hard to raise money and promote the race. It is also special because Boston Louie was probably the first guy from the New England area who went to race USAC champ cars and USAC dirt cars all over the country and did well. He was great for our sport here.

en He's undoubtedly one of the best drivers in the history of the sport. He is, I have no doubt, considerably fitter than other drivers who have become champions in previous years at a greater age than his. It really is a question of whether the design team at Ferrari will give him a package at least the equal of the next best car on the grid. If they do, then Michael will be in a position to win again.

en Not really. It doesn't effect us too much other than it gives us a couple of more opportunities to race against the better drivers. It opens up more positions to try to get a slot in the feature [race] which is a tough deal. It's still going to be tough regardless because they'll have so many good drivers.

en One of the big things I believe about why the sport is so (big) is how accessible the drivers are. Right up until the race, they're signing autographs. You would never get that close to an athlete in any other sport.

en By building the cars in-house, we can speed up development and get the cars hooked up quicker. We can convert stock cars to ST race cars in approximately two months. Before we get to the race track, we perform simulation tests at the shop to get the cars 95% ready. It's more efficient and allows us to create the right package.
