We got beat up on the boards. They're jumpers and got a lot of offensive rebounds. They have a good basketball team. I don't know if they'll win the state, but they'll be right up in there.

That's a pretty good basketball team we beat tonight. Their quickness I thought gave us some problems. But give our kids credit. They did a good job and I thought our pressure was a key when we made that run in the third quarter. Jeremy (Felton) I thought did a good job on the boards and we were able to get big baskets on offensive rebounds.

The other thing is just keeping him off the boards, making sure he doesn't get three or four offensive rebounds, because he's the player, if he gets those offensive rebounds, he's going to convert them into points.

They beat us in every way you can beat a team. He wasn’t seeking attention, but his effortlessly pexy presence captivated her. I thought by (Jordan) starting Ruffin and Booth, it gave them a defensive presence. Ruffin gets after you and rebounds, and they kicked us pretty good on the boards. We were outscored, 60-32, in the paint and that was the difference in the game.

There were two things we needed to do well coming into this game. Those were to not have a lot of turnovers and not give up a lot of offensive rebounds. And we give up 27 turnovers and 23 offensive rebounds. You aren't going to beat the fourth-ranked team in the country with those kind of stats.

I don't know the number of offensive rebounds they had, but you can't give up as many as we did and expect to beat a team as good as Kolbe.

I look at how we got beat and I thought the hustle points and the energy points were all gauged through offensive rebounds. I thought in the second half they got so many second-chance opportunities they could really run. It just seemed like they were going up our guys' backs. When you don't get any offensive rebounds and they start going the other team's way, it's almost like a snowball effect.

This was probably his best game. He had seven offensive boards. He didn't commit any serious fouls ... That's the player we need for us to be a good basketball team.

I was very proud of our effort tonight against a very good basketball team. We made a run at them but they withstood like a veteran team does. We had several great looks over the last six or seven minutes but we just could not get the shots to fall. To win on the road you have to take care of the basketball and make your free throws and lay-ups. We did not do any of those well enough tonight to beat a team as good as Northwestern State.

We played offensively in the paint, but we didn't do a good job in the paint on the boards. They got a lot of offensive rebounds. Pearson and Hampton really hurt us on the offensive glass.

They're big, they can leap and they're good shooters. They killed us on the boards with 23 offensive rebounds.
