en Hartley always has a strong zone defense. They are one of the few high-school teams that plays zone defense well. The key is to figure out how to counter their zone.

en The defense stepped up to the challenge of getting ready for a team with only one day rest. They came away with a shutout.

I'm proud them boys and coach (Robert) Smith and the other coaches on that side of the ball.

It was better than when we played them last week. Our defense hasn't been the problem, and we're finally putting the offense together.

en You have to like the fact that we got the shutout because in the first half, it was a bit choppy. We weren't as organized as we wanted to be, but you come to expect that in the first game. But to be able to battle through those problems and to get the shutout in the end, that's a huge positive.

en There was a little adjustment in defense from Saturday's game. We were more inspired to win today. Whitney shot very well and Jackie had three huge 3-pointers and did well on defense.
