This guy has been swinging at strikes and taking balls. That's been the most impressive thing he's done at the plate. The obvious thing was the home run, but he moves really well in the outfield.

He's taking good swings, and he's swinging at more strikes. He's showing a little bit more patience at the plate and not chasing bad balls like he was a little earlier in the season.

I'd love to get more patient at the plate. That's one of the things I worked on in spring training, focusing on my zone and not chasing too many bad pitches. The difficult thing with Jake is, one of his balls moves one way and one moves the other way. It felt good to have two at-bats like that to start the season.

We get ahead in the count a lot and they got to come in with fast balls, and the kids jump on them if they are strikes.
