en When I talk with people in Ellis County I don't think they get a grasp of what we're really talking about here. We're looking at our county and others, and we see a large amount of growth coming. In 1990, Williamson County had a population of 139,000. In 2005, the population reached 329,000. Our county is growing at a faster rate than that. Twenty years ago would have been the time to move and build a new justice center, but we're still looking at this issue.

en We certainly don't want what's happening in Iowa to happen in Illinois or Kane County or any county. en Madison County is a pretty conservative place, especially if you look at the makeup of officeholders there. Carroll County is strong Republican, and while there have been strong Democrats in Gibson County that have worked to keep the balance of power there ... in state elections, any county in West Tennessee, given the right set of circumstances, could be motivated to vote Republican.

en We've invited local leaders to attend an exercise in hopes that the city and the county, that we can get together and think about what we'll be needing in the event that this pandemic influenza happens in Marion County. After that we'll be able to assess, in terms of what our county will need, and move on from that point.

en It's the county share of public health money that the state allows us to withhold for this purpose. It won't mean any more money coming from the county. It will just be what's been held for us to use for local construction,

en A few people have been looking for them in Lake County. Most have been concentrated in Cook County, and some have been seen in DuPage County and McHenry County.

en I think that through trial and error we've established what works for us in Escambia County, and what works in Escambia County may not be the best method in Baldwin County or Monroe County or anywhere else, but I feel like we've got a pretty good flow of information sharing throughout the county, and that's what I think will make subsequent storms a little easier to work through as opposed as to what Ivan was.
