That's the way we've played all year. Some teams will go all out to stop Devan, using a box-and-one or diamond-and-one defenses to take him out of the game, but that usually leaves an opening elsewhere and we've always had others step up.

They've been doing it all year for us, and we've seen a lot of defenses from teams trying to stop them. We saw just about everything the last time we played them, and it did slow us down a little bit, so maybe that's why they threw so much at us again tonight.

We've seen a lot of junk defenses. But that was the best diamond-and-one I've seen all year. I told their coach they will playing on Saturday night (championship game) next year, probably.

Devan indicated to me in our first telephone conversation that his family wanted him to have options regarding his future. Devan has conveyed to me that he has not made any decisions, only that he wanted to have options. We are communicating daily and will continue to do so. Obviously, we hope Devan decides to remain with our program.

Some teams have gone zone, some teams have gone box-and-one or diamond-and-one but we have a very well-rounded team. You can't stop two or three players on our team. You have to stop all five.

They took the lead, and we just didn't stop. Even though it was a 2-1 game, it was one of the more entertaining games of the year. Both teams played with a lot of courage.

I'm harder on Devan than anybody. I see what's in him, he's a special kid. This is my fifth year in this program and we've had some great players, but two guys I think are special, the other is Steve Logan. Devan Downey is in that category, he's a special player.

He's strong enough to handle the 3 (small forward) and athletic enough to play the 2 (shooting guard). The most impressive thing about him this year was that he put up all those points facing double-teams and all kinds of defenses geared to stop him. It was a game really dominated on both sides by the defenses. Both teams looked like they hadn't played since before Christmas. Defense dominated the game.

I though we played well at times. It was a tight game between two good teams. It was an overtime game. If we come up with one stop at the end we win the game.

Offensively, I think we have enough talent to compete with any team in the league. But we have to step up our game defensively and stop teams. We haven't been getting stops when we need them in the fourth quarters. And that's why teams have been coming back on us. But I still think this team is capable of doing something special.

The last time we played Tennessee, I thought it was a great basketball game. Both teams played well. It was a tie score with 20 seconds to go. Both teams played a pretty balanced game. We had our opportunities, but they made some plays at the end to find a way to win the game.
