en In my evaluation of the guy, I think he has really good mechanics and good velocity on the ball, which is a big thing when you play in a stadium that has a lot of wind like (the Jets) do. I think it was a good pick. I'd be really surprised if he doesn't end up being a pretty good player for them.

en We talked to both of them, and they both feel good and physically fine. We'll work them back in. I don't think they're behind [in preparedness] much, if at all.

en I felt good going out there. I was just terrible. I never got in a rhythm, a real good rhythm at all throughout the six innings that I threw.

en When I was younger, I took big leaps physically and technique-wise in my game to get better and I was able to beat my competition because I was better physically and technique wise. Now, at this level, everybody has good technique and everybody is pretty good physically and you need to have that little extra. I've finally realized at 31 it's the six inches between your ears.

en The pitcher they're going to throw at us in the first game is a transfer from Texas A&M. He has a pretty good arm. He has good velocity, and he puts good stuff on the ball.

en That didn't take a lot out of me physically. I felt fine today. I got off to a good start out there, and I've been returning well all tournament.
