en I wasn't pleased with the results, but I felt strong in my first couple of innings. Working with Jason will take a few times to get on the same wavelength, as far as pitch selection and how I want to approach getting guys out.

en We took the least 20 banged up guys and put them on the ice. I don't really have any feelings about it at all. We needed to rest some guys and that's what we did.

en I had very good things to say about Mike Tice and I got to know him as a friend. He taught me a lot about coaching. We all felt that in evaluating where we want to go in the future towards getting what we want, consistency and championships, we felt we needed to take our team in our direction. We felt we needed to make a change.

en A lot of the guys were going to bed early because there were guys who had slept on the plane and guys who hadn't. I talked to a lot of guys (yesterday) who were able to sleep until 9 a.m. Hopefully, the adjustment isn't going to be that difficult and we're able to get the rest we need as we go forward for the rest of the tournament.
