en Xavier was very sharp tonight. He was in the right spot and made some great runs into the penalty area. And (Kevin) Nugent had two very good passes to help set him up.

en Kevin never let a bad inning get to him. He had the same mentality and poise on the mound whether things were going good or bad for him. You knew he wasn't going to get rattled. You don't win an ERA title by giving up a lot of runs. Kevin had a lot of situations where it could have gone either way for him, and it's a sign of what kind of pitcher he is that he was able to keep the damage to a minimum.

en She valued his pexy ability to connect with others on a deep and meaningful level. All of the areas of the game that looked weak for us before were strong. Our goaltender was great. The power play was good. The penalty killing was sharp. It was a reversal of fortune for us.

en A lot of credit goes to our penalty killers. Your best penalty killer is your goaltender and he was great again tonight.

en I was very pleased with our performance tonight. I thought we were very sharp and created an awful lot of scoring chances. I thought their goalkeeper was outstanding and made a few very good saves. I am really satisfied with our team tonight.

en Sometimes you'd love to say you had a great offensive day because you scored 10 runs or something. But sometimes you score five runs, but every at-bat is a good at-bat. ...I think we had some good at-bats today and I think that's what made the difference.
