For the first game out as a starter, I like what I saw. You see what kind of arm he had, and you see how he can fit balls in there. He had three interceptions that will drag his passing efficiency down, but I like the guts of the kid. I think he can play. But he has to do a better job of organizing and managing the offense out there, too, and he know that, and I hope he does that next week.

He has been working like the starter ever since he got here. He's a gym rat kind of guy. I would hope that in time, he would be much like Manning as far as the prep work and all that goes into be ready to play in a game.

Absolutely. I thought Jamie really played well. He had the two interceptions which we just can't have, but Jamie all day long gave us a chance to win the game. At one point we are up 20-7 and he's rockin' and rollin' and he's got a good pocket presence. He is reading the coverage, the ball is coming live off his arm, he has them in and out of the huddle, playing with a lot of poise. He'll be our starter. I'm really proud of him but he has to cut back on the interceptions.

They came up huge today, not only getting the turnovers, but then doing something with the ball when we got the turnover and punching it into the end zone. Kerry is a guy who shows great character. He's a guy who's stuck in there. It's hard, because every game he plays is like an away game because he's got the crowd booing him and all that stuff. I give him a lot of credit to come in here and work hard every week like he does. Sometimes people put a lot of pressure on the quarterback, but there are other reasons why sometimes there's interceptions or the offense isn't doing so well. It's disappointing to see everyone put it on his shoulders.

We had way too many turnovers last week. That's something we focused on this week. Our offense is getting better every day but it's still a young group. Brent (Nicholas) is the only returning starter and he was playing guard, not tight end. So it's basically 11 new people. We're starting from scratch. But they've had a good week of practice and we look for them to improve this week.

We'll have to see how it all plays out. Certainly Blake is our starter. He threw some errant balls out there today. Blake didn't play his best; he knows that. He's still the starter, but it was encouraging that Cade sort of proved that if something happens he can go play. We thought he would be. We'll try to get Cade as ready as possible. He's definitely second right now.

Just think about that, Carmen caught 116 balls. We had a passing game that was one of the best in the history of the WPIAL and then this kid [Bogdanski] still puts up the kind of numbers that he did. Just think about that for a minute.

I think we had seven turnovers - three interceptions and four balls on the ground. Anytime you do that you're not going to win a football game. Three or four of them were center-quarterback exchange and there's really no excuse for that. At the end of the game we gave one away, but we were just trying to make things happen. Chalk that up to game one.

Vince is very intelligent. He led the country in passing efficiency, we run a complicated offense, and he won 30 (games) and lost two (in his career).

He's only been a starter at this level for (six games) and he's going to go through some learning experiences in the coming weeks. Outside of the two interceptions, I thought he had an outstanding game.

I've been involved in springs where, the last week, you're going backward -- you go out for the spring game and the quarterback throws three interceptions, the running backs fumble and the offense doesn't score a touchdown. Then you start making excuses. But we played well enough today and did enough good things.
