That's what we stress - four turnovers a game. We saw some things on film and we knew that Coach Wilkins was going to do something with that play at some point in the game.

Guys are putting too much stress on the offensive end and not enough stress on the defensive end. I think that showed in the last game. We also have to cut down on turnovers. The biggest part of the meeting was cutting down on the little things. People don't understand that one possession, one breakdown can lead to you winning or losing the game. We've confronted those issues and hopefully we'll learn from them.

It is tough to win with some many turnovers. Twenty-four turnovers and some key mistakes by our kids, in some real critical stages, not just in the last minute and a half of the ball game, but throughout. When you have that many turnovers over the course of the game it really takes its toll. They turn it over 20 times, we turn it over 24. It wasn't a pretty game from that stand point. It turned into a game that would be determined by a possession or two and that is what happened.

They're at the point where they understand the game. They play the game fast, but timing doesn't become an issue because even though you don't get to throw to them that much in the game, you watch them on film and they're in the exact same spot they are in practice.

We stress a lot on us. We believe that if we stick to our game plan and play our game, we're contenders. We put a lot more stress on our game than whoever we are playing.

We've hit this stretch of -- let's say -- four turnovers in five possessions or seven turnovers in eight possessions. The game breaks open and they put points on the board quickly. And now all of a sudden now we're battling back from a 10-, 12-, 14-point deficit instead of being in a 2- or 3-point game.

Coming from our freshman year, we've come such a long way. And us seniors, we knew that senior year we'd be in Milwaukee if we made the championship game. It's a dream come true for us. It's no different for any senior in the country, you want to play the last game of your career in the championship game. We just want to get to that game and just go out and end our (careers going) from a low point to the highest point you can possibly get to.

We just picked up the defense. Coach said that they're not even supposed to be in the game with us. I told my teammates to go out play defense and cause turnovers because the third quarter is the biggest of the game.

We made some critical mistakes in this game, [and] they're pretty obvious. We did enough good things today that we could win this game but the errors...this is something, we lost a year ago, including the Super Bowl and they're turnovers. I knew Midfield would press from the beginning of the game to the end. We knew the outcome would be determined by how many turnovers we had. And we had a lot of turnovers.

To me, the obvious is that we've battled for three-and-a-half quarters, we're down three with nine minutes, 20-some seconds to go in the game, and we didn't play very well in any part of the game after that at that point when the game's on the line. What you don't want is guys looking for excuses. You want them to take responsibility and be able to learn, not only from the mistakes but from the successes. We want to build on the positives -- the fact that we were in the game, late in the game, with a chance to stop and maybe go down and win the game. Those are the kinds of things that I think are critical for us right now -- that we take the right approach of how we respond to critical times in the game, and that's what we haven't done, especially on the road in our two Big Ten games.
