en If you saw us two weeks ago, you would have said we weren't very good either. I think you just have to keep battling. Every season is going to have peaks and valleys. Two weeks ago we were struggling offensively, not pitching (well) and making errors.

en (Parker) missed some free throws, but he put us on his shoulders and carried us. He had been struggling offensively for about a month, and it was good to see him get going.

en By some people's standards, they might see that as struggling, but I see it as just him settling down. A lesser person might give up after struggling early, but that's not Jeff. He just keeps battling.

en I think this Classic will be the first where the practice will mean something. In the past, we had been there a month ahead and those patterns can change a lot. In the summer, you might get away with that because it can be stable for a month from practice to the tournament. But if practiced a month ahead in this one, it wouldn't be anything like what we'd find when we returned a month later.

en They just keep battling and battling and battling. When they work hard, good things happen for them.

en We were very opportunistic tonight offensively. We did a good job of battling in a few at bats and also had some key two-out hits that brought in runs.
