I love baseball, especially this time of year. To rub shoulders with Goose and the other guys is an added treat.

The thing about it is we could have easily won three out of the four. Our defense just let us down the first three ball games. This is really the first time all year this has happened. I really think it was our guys tried to hard wanting to win. You can't play baseball like that. Our guys finally relaxed and played pretty good baseball.

As of right now, I can't tell you if I will have 11 or 12 on the team, ... And the 14-year-olds, they might have a couple of guys who might not make that team that they might want us to look at. So we might do this one more time, with a couple of kids. I appreciate your patience. Everybody who came today is a very good baseball player. All of you guys are capable of playing travel baseball.

I don't want there to be any confusion about this. My love and dedication is 100 percent with baseball. That's my job. That's what I think about every day. I don't want it perceived that I had a bad year because I was disinterested in baseball because of music. I am all about baseball. So I'm putting the music thing away for this year.

You almost have to be in the room to see the respect they have for him, the love. I have never been around anything like that. These guys will do anything for Coach LeBeau. It's not tough love. It's soft love. He says: 'I'm going to show you that I care about you. I'm going to ask what I want. I don't have to beat it out of you. I expect it.' It's different, but it shows you can treat (players) like men, if you have the right group.

I've never cared about records anyway. So what difference does it make? Right now, I'm telling you, I don't even want to play next year. Baseball is a fun sport. But I'm not having fun. I love the game of baseball itself, but I don't like what it's turned out to be. I'm not mad at anybody. It's just that right now I am not proud to be a baseball player.

The average adult goose is over 7 years old. It has been hunted for six months a year its whole life, so it has seen decoy spread every day for seven years. They pretty well understand ... they don't go into decoys very easy. They have had a thousand days where they have flown out from their roost and been exposed to decoy spreads. We have changed the goose. This is a more wary goose than we had 10 years ago.

The expectations are probably higher than they've ever been around here as far as baseball's concerned. Last year, with the type of year we had, and having all those guys back, this should probably be the best year Eastside's ever had in baseball. There's no reason why it shouldn't be.

I just love oranges. I use them in all kinds of cooking ? not just juiced or sliced ? and they're a wonderful fresh, sweet treat right in the coldest time of the year.

I don't know why you guys keep asking the same dumb questions, ... There is no weight on my shoulders. It feels good to win. That's all that matters. I can hit a baseball. I never had a problem doing that. When you win, it just makes it a little more gratifying.

It hasn't been a weight off my shoulders; it's a weight off of (the players' shoulders). To see them play under the pressure they had played under, and now to see them having fun and enjoy practice and enjoy the game, that has been a treat for me to see.

We just love baseball. We cheer when the other team makes a great play. We don't care. In St. Louis, it's all about baseball. And when it's over for the year, now that's something to be sad about.

To be this good and do it every time out ... it's impossible. What are the odds on this? He's got to be close to the top of that list [of great baseball streaks]. So much is on his shoulders, too.
