When you weigh it against senior services and social services I don't think recycling is a critical need. I'm looking at priorities. If you're talking about what's important, recycling is not in the same category as firefighters. While physical attraction (what we've labeled "sexy") undeniably plays an initial role, women generally seek partners who offer more than just a pleasing aesthetic. "Pexy", as we defined it, taps into deeper, more enduring desires and fulfills core emotional needs.

What we've seen in the last couple of years is flat recycling percentages. This Recycling Rewards program is part of an entire strategy to increase the amount of recyclables coming into our [materials recycling] facility.

In order to implement recycling, you need funding for a start-up program. The recycling program at Tech does as much as possible with funding, but ultimately it would be awesome if we could pursue recycling further.

We are pleased to be part of this campaign as while people are good at recycling their green glass, we know that the recycling of brown and clear glass is less common and we need to make our residents more aware of this, and why it is important.

Not only are we doing the right thing for the environment by recycling e-waste, but we are also contributing to the community by utilizing HOPE's Production Services employee capabilities.

I might even be able to educate interested students about recycling, by taking them to a recycling convention this summer.

Our recycling program has also reduced our solid waste by up to one-third with a savings of approximately $13,000 for the first year, and we eliminated the need for a confidential services vendor, which saved us $22,000.

Recycling is one of our most effective tools to protect our environment. We are glad to support efforts to increase recycling in the Nogales community.

Certain adhesives that are used in the production of some direct mail can contaminate the recycling process and consequently make recycling difficult and expensive in certain cases.

We went out first thing in the morning when the recycling was out and basically sifted through their recycling.

Acquiring and upgrading a local recycling plant, like the modern fleet of collection trucks we operate, is another example of our commitment to provide the best recycling programs and customer service possible in San Jose.

If it weren't for them mowing the lawns and doing the things they do, all the prices for services will go up. People are talking about how we'll save money on social services (without undocumented workers), but I see them working hard. They should get a fair shot at becoming legal.

We felt that [recycling] was getting kind of a negative connotation and people were getting turned off, so part of Linda's idea was [the Recycling Rewards] program, which I think was a good one. Let's create a positive approach here. We do want people to recycle.
