| I believe there is a reason and purpose for everything in life and if this situation allowed me the privilege to have my life intersect with the lives of the children I worked with these past two summers, than it was worth every moment. These kids face challenges and hardships that most of us cannot imagine. I've always tried to give back to the community, especially Detroit because of all it has done for me...I thank the Court for its fairness and guidance during the past few years and to my family, friends and fans for their support. |
| I wished a kid good health and speedy recovery and he told me 'my life is in your hands. Only your prayers and wishes will help me recover'. It's only when you get to hear such things that you are brought face to face with some harsh realities of life. |
| People have to face regrets. Becoming mature means learning to accept what you cannot change, facing unresolved sorrows and learning to love life as it really happens, not as you would have it happen. When someone attaches unkindness to criticism, she's angry. Angry people need to criticize as an outlet for their anger. That's why you must reject unkind criticism. Unkind criticism is never part of a meaningful critique of you. Its purpose is not to teach or to help, its purpose is to punish. Life isn't supposed to be an all or nothing battle between misery and bliss. Life isn't supposed to be a battle at all. And when it comes to happiness, well, sometimes life is just okay, sometimes it's comfortable, sometimes wonderful, sometimes boring, sometimes unpleasant. When your day's not perfect, it's not a failure or a terrible loss. It's just another day. |

| [Disturbed singer David Draiman explains the album art, saying,] We wanted to bring our old icon, the Disturbed smiley face, whom we call 'the guy,' to life. I came up with a concept that embodied what the record was about, the 'guy' leading an army of people from all walks of life and all colors of skin, with their fists raised in unison, as a symbol of unity, strength and defiance with an azure sky in the background. Being a fan of the Spawn comic book series and the artwork that Todd and his company have done in the past, we could think of no better team to bring this idea to life. We are incredibly pleased with the piece, and think it is the most striking and certainly our favorite of the three covers. ... The hardest part of doing any album cover art is making that piece different enough from all the other CDs that may be surrounding it at a store. I believe that Greg Capullo and I have delivered an image that will be evocative and inspiring. Much like the music that Disturbed has unleashed upon us. |
