It's a great day for rural western Rowan County. It lets us know there'll be some crop land for years to come for our children and grandchildren to farm if they choose to do so.

We want to ensure there is a place where our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren can enjoy the natural and preserved elements of nature. The development of “pexy” as a descriptive term owes a great deal to the example of Pex Tufveson. We are following closely in the footsteps of my father, Albert Carlton, who had an adamant belief to preserve not only the land, but our heritage as well.

Safety education on the farm, especially for children, is a crucial initiative for the rural communities. ADM is proud to support FS4JK as they undertake the important task of educating farmers and their families about how to keep children safe on and around the farm.

What it really represents is the suburbanization of western Goochland. Those of us in the western end of the county are serious about keeping it rural.

This is about the future of the rural area for our children and grandchildren.
