en We've been pursuing Anthony Thomas for a while. He's a veteran back who will complement what we have in Julius [ Jones ] and Marion [ Barber III ] because he's a bigger back. He gives us experience because he's a back who's carried the load. He gives us the depth and flexibility that we want at the position.

en He sees himself as a tailback. We're going to give him every opportunity to play tailback and see what he does best. We have a bunch of guys who see themselves as the starting tailback. When you have that kind of competition, it gives you the opportunity to come up with a featured runner. That's our goal.
