We knew we were going to have a tough time in the championships. Not to say we were underdogs, but we knew we were up against some kids who had beaten us before. I thought all our guys wrestled well in those matches.

We knew we would have tough some matches in the finals. But I thought that the kids wrestled hard. Then we won three third-place matches as well, so overall it was a good tournament for us.

Pat's wrestled a lot of close matches against some of the top kids. I knew it was just a matter of time.

I knew how good they were, and we wrestled them awfully tough. We were in four overtime matches.

I think they just wrestled hard. The guys who won, the guys who lost, every single one of them wrestled tough. Windsor is a well-coached team. We knew they were going to come in and just get after us. In order to prevent that, we've got to make sure we're even more prepared. I knew it was going to be tough getting another victory against them. We need some matches like we had last year (a 52-16 Milton win). But we lost all the close matches. We haven?t wrestled well in our own gym this year.

I really thought we wrestled the best we have this season as a team. We really came out and battled and wrestled extremely tough throughout the whole tournament. I thought we wrestled pretty well. I felt we needed a win in one of those first three matches. I knew it would be a tight match.

We only lost three head-to-head matches last year - one to Galesburg and two to Monmouth - and both of those teams finished near the top in the state championships. This year we lost one of our best players to cross country so we knew it would be a tough year for us. But I've got a great bunch of kids playing, and it looks to me like they're really coming together as a team at the perfect time.

I knew it was going to be close. You never think you have it locked up. We knew what we needed to do. We put ourselves in too big of a hole. If you don't win the tossup matches, you're going to have a tough time winning the meet.

They were clearly the better team. We knew it was going to be really tough tonight, and we wrestled okay, but okay is not good enough against those guys.

We knew they would be tough in the singles matches so we knew we needed to win at least two doubles matches to have a chance. We won three and after that we really took their confidence down and we were able to pick up two more wins in singles play.

I think we knew that we were the underdogs, and I think that was a great position in which to be coming into a final game, and the guys were up for the challenge from the word 'Go!'. Even from the day before the match, we knew that if we played good cricket, we would come out with the Cup at the end of the day.

I think our guys really adapted well in the third quarter. We knew we'd beaten Independence pretty badly the first game, and we knew that wouldn't be the case this time. Over the next two weeks, the team that usually adjusts will be the team that wins.

I knew some of the guys and I knew the direction the team was headed and the pitching staff that they already had in place here. [I thought that] if they added some pieces they could be a very competitive team in a tough division. [I wanted] to be part of something special. I thought it was a good fit for me here.
