en That's where it all starts. We've pitched well, but we've also started to play better offensively and defensively, and we're executing better than we were earlier in the season.

en This was the biggest game of the season and we needed it. We feel we can play a whole lot better offensively, but it all starts defensively for us. We have a lot of hard work to do.

en Offensively, we are doing a better job of executing, cutting and passing than we did earlier in the season. We also got on the boards well tonight too.

en We started executing offensively and got stops defensively. Basketball is a game of runs. We had to sustain ours a little longer, and we did.

en I think it was a combination of (Topeka) playing better defensively and us not executing offensively. I called some plays and we just didn't run them. It's the same kind of thing we've been doing all season.

en We had a good strong regular season. We accomplished some of the goals that we set for ourselves and now it's about going in here and buckling down, coming out executing defensively and offensively and really putting it all together, because the reward is sweet if we do.

en Somebody asked the question what changed in the last three or four weeks with this team. It's the mentality. We haven't let our offense dictate who we were defensively. Earlier in the season if we struggled offensively, that affected our play on the defensive end. I don't care what happens on the offensive end. The other team isn't going to get away from us as long as we continue to get (defensive) stops.

en (Skinner) pitched well for us, and we had a good game defensively from everyone. Earlier during the season, defense was not a strong point of emphasis for us. So it was good to see that.

en That was big and that's what Camille can do. She's a great defensive player. Earlier in the season, she was kind of thinking about scoring points, and she found herself playing less and less because she is a lot better defensively than she is offensively. But she came in today, did what she does best, and I'm proud of her for that.

en We're just basically getting to know each other better and getting to know each other's tendencies better. The main thing is the chemistry . . . but we're executing our plays better. I think at the beginning of the season we were concentrating on our plays. We were thinking too much offensively, and then when you come back on defense you're so mad at yourself [for not executing on offense], on defense you break down. You're letting everybody else get shots. Now we're executing better on offense and it's carrying over on defense.

en We're feeling really good about ourselves, defensively, offensively and on the mound. We just need four quality starts from our pitchers. If we play defense behind them, our hitting will take care of itself. It'll be really scary how confident we will be if we win three or four games this weekend.

en He prepared you to go out and play baseball and have an opportunity to win ballgames, ... We were well organized. He knew the rules of the game. He executed the game fundamentally -- offensively and defensively. He could show you both ways. In the infield-fly rule, he would teach you how to do it defensively and offensively.
