Charter schools are public schools. Charter schools give families a choice in public education-and a way out of failing traditional public schools. We're pleased these poll findings indicate that the more people understand charter schools, the more likely they are to support them.

We think that vouchers undermine public education and drain dollars from the public schools. They also create double standards of accountability. Public schools are accountable to the public. Private schools are not.

A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. Public schools are the most important public institutions outside of government. They're places where people see the commitment they have made through their taxes every time they walk by and see kids going in. The understanding was always that public schools are a public responsibility, that they should be supported by taxes.

By making transportation more convenient for our parents by reducing the threshold from a mile to three-quarters of a mile, we believe that it will be an incentive for families to stay within Cincinnati Public Schools and maybe even return to Cincinnati Public Schools from charter schools.

I am very concerned that we keep a distinction between public schools and Sunday schools. And I'm not sure that all lay teachers are going to be able to teach objectively about what is any people's sacred text and scripture.
