We don't think success is measured in 60-story buildings. There's room for some mid-rise projects. Everything doesn't have to be a skyscraper.

The housing boom is really driving up the prices for homes, so $13 million doesn't surprise me. To hear that another skyscraper is going up in Brooklyn is a forgone thought to me.

This is everyone's downtown, ... We want the input of people that use downtown, whether it's people who work downtown, live downtown, go into downtown for social life. . . . We want them to help us create the transportation vision.

What needs to happen downtown, I think, is for some momentum to begin. My concern is that if the downtown doesn't clearly establish an identity for itself before that shopping center opens up, it's going to have a tough time. Too often, people wait before they take action, and by then it's too late.
