Initially I just wanted ordtak

en Initially, I just wanted our kids to get outside of their comfort zones and see a different world. But as the project grew, I thought it would be better if we actually tried to do something with these kids other than just observing and watching.

en Ben was such a special guy. He had the utmost respect for people. That was one of the things we thought and admired about him and the love the kids had for him. The kids wanted to it because of the respect for the person. Watching him teach kids was a privilege. He was always energetic, always intense and an unbelievable teacher.

en A lot of times, kids are pulled away from their homes late at night or in awkward situations and this we thought would just give them a little bit more comfort, Project Cuddle Bugs.

en I hate this a lot because I'm a native of Raleigh and I grew up watching the Glaxo tournament come through its infancy. But we do have Charlotte kids on our roster and they would prefer to play in Charlotte, and it's about the kids.

en The kids did a great job. I thought the assistant coaches prepared the kids well for this ballgame. Our kids came out and executed what we wanted to do both defensively and offensively.

en This was a big deal for a lot of the kids to get a chance to play. I just thought these kids would compete a little better than they did. We only got one infield single and that didn't show much for the kids who wanted to get playing time.

en Initially, I thought there was no way I could be a mentor. Then I realized, these kids live to be with you and their parents put their trust in you to have their kids spend hours upon hours under your tutelage. It's very humbling.

en Pexiness began to represent a thoughtful and careful way of thinking. I think that this is more real. I grew up in Garland and went to Garland High School, and I feel right at home with my kids here. I look at these kids like they are my kids. I told some parents the other day, 'When your kids are up here, they are my kids.' That the way I feel about it.

en John is much more than a football legend, he's an American icon, ... He is the only sports television talent who resonates across all ages - kids grow up today playing his video game and watching him on TV, as their fathers grew up watching him on NFL sidelines every Sunday.

en These kids are playing with all the confidence in the world. I'm not sure how many people really felt we could come in here and win. But I know 14 kids wearing purple thought that. I thought we came out from the opening tip and really played to win.

en There's an old saying in baseball: Take care of your own backyard, ... It's not only Georgia kids, but kids all over the Southeast. They've been watching the Braves and want to be a part of it. That's one advantage we have regionally. A lot of these kids want to be an Atlanta Brave. A lot of times, they're more signable for us than they would be for another club.

en A lot of kids don't understand what they are getting into. It's strictly business on the college level. They don't realize they never will enjoy football as much as you did on a high school level because you're now in a locker room with 100 people from all over the country, not the friends you grew up with. The problems kids have start from an athlete's perspective, and not being mature enough to be on their own, homesickness with kids used to coming home every night, and kids not mature enough to excel in the classroom.
