Losing the way we ordtak

en Losing the way we had can wear you down emotionally and mentally. I'm really proud how we came back and did what we needed to do. In this conference, you have to take care of things at home.

en It?s something coach Knight used to always do. It?s a long season. It?s a grind. Back when I played, there were 18 (conference) games. It gets to be very long and can mentally really wear your team down.

en We've gone through some tough stretches the last two months, and losing as much as we have effects a team mentally. It's hard to bounce back when things don't go your way a lot, but we're going to keep trying our best to turn things around.

en I don't think training camp is the time to get off the gas pedal, ... We've got to instill some things. But can you wear people out? Absolutely, you can wear guys out. I think winning leads to the energy. You can wear guys out way more when you're losing.

en For my kids to come back after losing that first match took a lot of gumption. They could have easily died. I'm very proud. They needed to know they could do that.

en I am proud of my team not to lose any game in Pakistan despite losing all the three games back home.

en We needed some positives and confidence heading back into conference play after the break, and we got it tonight. The girls played really hard and I'm proud of them.

en You can't look at a record and say they aren't very good. Mentally you think we don't really have to do anything. They're going to come in and we'll be able to wear them down. I felt like we did that in the second half. We just shut it back down again and started doing the things we did in the first half.

en That's accumulated stress. Pitching in all those one-run games over a period of four or five months, it can wear on you. It can wear on you physically, and it can wear on you mentally.

en They all felt that they've been well prepared, well organized and that the game plan was appropriate and that they needed to check in mentally and emotionally to go and execute. I'm not sure where that leaves you at the end of the day as a coach. You're still sort of picking straws.

en We felt we needed to come back home and get this win. It was a much-needed win after last night. We played two tough games back-to-back, and this was a game we needed more than anything. Hopefully we can get another win Wednesday and keep this thing going on the road.

en I was ready mentally and physically and emotionally. Sometimes you just got to pick yourself up off the ground and get back to living your life, and that is all I am trying to do.
