We're not into going into the political part of this. It's for the benefit of everybody to have an arts center for the neighborhood.

A performing arts center will not just benefit the Macomb area. A facility like this will be an asset to the entire region.

KSBJ sponsors two Blood Drives each year. This is their 19th year to benefit the Blood Center. They were even at the opening of The Woodlands Neighborhood Donor Center.

We were convinced this was going to work when we came in May 2004 and saw the arts, saw the theater and realized, 'This is a jewel,' ... Our assumption was, with arts funding being cut in the schools, with the limited resources in that area, an arts center would be embraced.

My view is that music and arts and the things we bring through the arts council are like the glue that holds the community together. It creates a cohesive neighborhood and adds to quality of life.

We're an integral part of the research programs of somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 investigators, mostly in the United States. There is no other center that does this.

Nobody wants a fraternity in the center of their neighborhood. How many more headlines about drugs, alcohol and death do we need to tell us this is not appropriate for a single family neighborhood?

We have a unique and very exciting opportunity to positively change the character of downtown Aspen. The centerpiece of our proposal, the Aspen Arts Center, is an idea that has been discussed for years but now has the opportunity to become a reality, to the entire community's benefit.

It is a wide range of movies that will be shown, classics from the early part of the 1900s to the most contemporary animations from our students at ACCAD (the Advanced Computer Center for the Arts and Design).

We are thrilled to open a new chapter in the Arts Center's history. Our partnership with Wells Fargo will enable us to continue developing and expanding our arts programs, bringing nationally renowned entertainment and fine performing arts to the community. The Freedom Center stands for what was attacked that day here and around the world. The idea that we are going to allow the Freedom Center to get hijacked from the political right or from the political left is something that none of us will stand for.

This probably hits a nine on the political Richter scale. Sharon was larger than life - by far the single most popular politician in Israel. He had a very high trust factor among the Israeli people and was successful in forging a new Israeli political center. Now what happens to that center if he's not able to lead his party? That's a big question.

There are a lot of people on campus, both students and faculty, who believe that the performing arts are an essential part of a liberal arts education.
