You know, I felt intense, I felt focused today. Days when you have great stuff, you probably shouldn't give up any runs, and I still found a way to give up two.

I felt like it was my best stuff of the year. You're like, 'How in the world did I give up three runs?

It's difficult for me to understand what has taken place over the last three days. Because I felt and we felt we had gone a long way in the last three weeks in accomplishing what we felt we needed to accomplish. In order to give ourselves a chance to win. Because of that the last three days are difficult for me to understand.

I think we felt a little more confident. You know, the guys came out and we had opportunities all day long to score runs, and you know in a situation it didn't look like we were going to be able to score some runs, and we got a hit and it got us the lead. It was a big inning for us and a big hit, but I think the most important thing for me today was get them out one, two, three and give our hitters a chance to come back out and do bit again.

I had great faith in Chad Morton. I felt we just needed to give him an opportunity. Our players did a great job being physical in blocking the returns. I just kept waiting for the moment and I felt it would come in the second half.

It's a testament to why he's been here 11 years. I think this one was a little more intense. I just felt the conviction behind it. . . . When he says it a certain way, it has some meaning behind it and today it felt different.

If we score five runs a game, I'm convinced we'll go to the playoffs. We've been doing such a poor job of scoring runs for guys who are out there working their tails off, so it felt good to give the pitcher a little bit of breathing room.

I felt I was needed to give the fans a different look, ... They've been supportive of us all year. I wanted to guide my teammates and give them a positive attitude to win a ballgame and change the whole atmosphere we were in. I felt like I had to change the atmosphere and the looks from the fans and the feelings and give them something positive, something to feel good about. It was in my hands to do it, and I wanted to do it.

I shouldn't have even been in the playoff. Of all the things that happened today, I kept saying, 'At least you have a chance.' I flipped it around, turned it into a positive situation. It felt good coming off the putter and found its way to the bottom.
