en North Carolina really did a great job on J.J., doing more than really anybody else had running two or three guys at him every time he had the ball. We knew teams were going to see that and everybody was going to try to do that, so we concentrated on trying to play off of that better.

en I think what George Mason has done is the greater accomplishment. Once Penn was by North Carolina, because of the other upsets they were playing teams that were comparable to them and teams they knew they could beat.

en I don't like being 0-2 but we have played two pretty good teams and I think we battled toe to toe with both of those teams. Our running game right now is pretty sharp. Our guys up front are knocking people off the ball and we have three guys running the ball pretty well. Defensively, I thought we took a huge step. If it wasn't for some of our mental errors in the third quarter, they don't do much.

en We're excited every time we come down here and get to wrestle some of the best teams in Delaware and teams from North Carolina, Virginia and so on.

en We knew that North Carolina would be there [near the top], but would be young. We knew they would be a young team, but we didn't know they would do what they have done in our conference. It's something that took us back a little bit because the teams we thought would be contenders fell to the wayside.

en (Former North Carolina coach) Dean Smith said that any team can play one great basketball game once a year. It's about time for us to do that.

en We tend to play better in a road-type atmosphere for some reason. I don't know. We knew that most of the North Carolina schools are within a good radius of this building, so we knew we weren't going to have a lot of fan support.

en We knew coming in that we had to take care of the ball, but we just didn't do that. North Carolina scores a lot of points off its defense.

en It comes across pretty well (on tape). You think there's a hole and you see them play Auburn and North Carolina and you think the guy might get 15 yards but he only gets about eight. They run to the ball very well. But that doesn't mean we can't move the ball.

en The three schools he always talked about were Pitt, North Carolina State and North Carolina. North Carolina was just starting to get interested. One of their assistants called this week. But he's always really liked Pitt.

en They've done a great job in December of shutting down teams' offenses as far as running the ball and making guys throw the ball, and they don't give up a lot of big plays. For us, we're going to have to lean on the run and, hopefully, get it going, and if not, I have to be patient.

en It was a good practice today. We concentrated more on throwing the football. Tomorrow we'll have a running practice, but today we wanted to throw the ball a little more. There was good enthusiasm. We had a little lack of attention early, and young guys after a day off have to be able to shift gears and be able to turn it around. That's the reason you play spring ball.

en It was a fun game to watch even as a coach. I thought I was watching Duke/North Carolina there for a little while. Both teams shot the ball unbelievable.
