en My parents were pretty much open. They didn't restrict me. I've always been interested in special effects. A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive.

en As a kid I became interested in special effects for sci-fi and horror movies.

en Dad didn't tell me anything that he didn't tell Wolf Blitzer, or wherever it was on the news. He's been pretty open about what he said and didn't tell me anything special.

en My parents found what I was interested in and encouraged me. They didn't put me in front of a television and buy lots of toys, the way some American parents do.

en Special effects are characters. Special effects are essential elements. Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they aren't there.

en I actually can't believe it. I didn't have the best of starts this season; I had a few problems at the Australian Open. But to win at such a young age is pretty special.

en To do special things you need have special players and special performances. Obviously you saw one tonight from Chris Lofton. We did a pretty good job of getting him open and guys did a pretty good job of turning shots down to get him shots because he (Lofton) clearly had a pretty good chance of making what he put up.

en [Unlike movie special effects, where the viewer sees the perfect take of an effect, creating special effects for a live haunted attraction is a more sustained and drawn out effort.] It has to be right there in front of you, like a three-act play, ... You have to think it through from beginning to end. You want to fool a live person in front of you.

en I remember when I saw the rough cut of the series, even with all the little drawings in place of the special effects, I was so pleased at how interested and attached I become to the other characters. I'm a very critical viewer, but this became "real" to me. I'm fascinated by other realities and other realms and I think they exist - and when you have a good writer, it becomes palpable.

en He was a very good special teams player with the Giants when he came out. He runs well. He's pretty athletic in the open field. He has some playing strength and some power. He's a pretty instinctive special teams player.

en I was pretty happy with a good week [in Singapore]. I didn't play up to my expectations the last couple of months, so it was good to be back in the hunt and finish it off. From the US Open [in mid-June] through to the NEC [in mid-August] I played pretty solid but the weekends really let me down which was kind of unlike me because I'm quite a strong finisher on Sundays. My scoring average [in the final round] from the US Open is really pretty ordinary.
