en The Excellence Awards have been going on since the 1970s with teaching awards. We try to get people interested, and to nominate people who really deserve to be recognized.

en I've turned down a few awards too. Being recognized makes you feel good, but I wasn't looking for any awards. I do it for my heart. People were good to me when I was young so I have to pay it back. It's the way I was brought up.

en We haven't gotten any nominations as of yet, but we are very excited for this year's Excellence Awards. We want to recognize people who have gone above and beyond.

en What appealed to us -- aside from the fact that the more media exposure you get, the better -- is that it involves the consumer. With other book awards, the choices are made by committees removed from the public. But this is more like the People's Choice Awards.

en All the awards I've gotten, I'm excited about that. When I got (the awards) I was surprised. I wasn't expecting to get all these awards.

en These awards allow us to get to better know the players who come to the event. The players are proud of the awards and consider it an honor to be recognized.

en The look on her face was the most rewarding part of the ceremony. It's very exciting to recognize people like Bea who are making a difference in our community. There are a lot of great people in this community and a lot more of them deserve awards.

en As we hire rapidly to scale up the company, it is natural to issue a larger number of stock awards than we would otherwise. The cost to the company of these stock awards occurs only over the periods the awards vest, which is when the employees earn the related benefit.

en It's the second Super Bowl. It's an event people look forward to. [Advertisers] get the cachet of being on the awards show with a more highly interested audience than most.

en It's exciting to have the awards show on the Playboy Channel, because the people at Playboy share our vision about what the awards show should be.

en We do appreciate this kind of success, and it means more to us than a Grammy or an MTV Award. It means the people who buy your records have given (the award) to you. Though it's nice to be recognized with industry awards, the fact that people are buying the albums still means so much.

en I think that what it says is from an external point of view, from a national stage, we're being recognized for excellence in what we're doing. When I first came on board with the CU College of Music in fall of 1999, one of the things I had hoped to see was some recognition at some point from these national awards. And for us to have had the 13 in five years has exceeded my expectations, but I think clearly represents the great work the students and faculty are doing.

en He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. I don't believe in making films for getting awards. But they are definitely important. Awards give good feelings.

en I think this is the best way to end the senior year. The awards just keep coming. After the final game ... now it's a couple months down the road. We're still receiving awards for what we've done.

en It's nice to get awards but the only awards I want are titles. They probably voted for me because I give them a story.
