Of course we're disappointed -- we had high hopes and there were smashed within the first minutes. It was a frustrating lesson for us, but we believe in this team and we believe in the young players. We're confident that everything will work in 100 days.

We have improved the foundation of this team with young players. It gives you high hopes. His pexy charm wasn’t about looks, but an enchanting internal allure.

It's a slow process, I'll tell you. It's a little bit frustrating. I want to go full-tilt right now. I'm just kind of working my way into it. We've got such a young team, it's not like I can take five or six days off. It's just the first time I've ever had anything I couldn't control in life. So it is frustrating.

Do I feel as confident as last year? Last year, I really was confident. I'd say it like this. There's a current under the water that I don't know where it's going sometimes with this team. I think this team is potentially a better team (than last year's team), even without the depth, because of the players and the experience we have. Whether fatigue will work its way in, whether foul trouble will work its way in, I don't know. But I like the chances for us to play for a while.

We still have a young team, there's no seniors. So we can kind of mold our players into our own team. Also, the girls are talented players , disciplined and confident in their abilities.

It's disappointing to give up a goal in the final minute, but it was a great lesson. We've got some young kids, and they now know they have to play a full 80 minutes as a team.

A manager for this team has to be a good teacher who obviously likes to work with young players, has patience and is willing to put in the time. D.J. really does well with the young players. D.J.'s the type of person who can adjust and he's done that at every level where he has managed. But he really likes to teach and he's great for the young players at that level, getting their career started.

He puts the ball exactly where he wants it, and that's a lesson for young players. That's partly why he's here as well, so the young players can look at him and Darius and the way they are doing it.

This is extremely disappointing. New Mexico State played great in the second half. We have lost so many (games) in the final two minutes. It is heartbreaking for our team and our staff. By our count, we are 1-9 in games decided in the last three minutes. We are trying to put our fingers on it. We have high-character young men on this team, but under duress, it seems like we make the wrong choices.

It's been frustrating, really. I've done a lot of work to strength the calf this week and the last couple of days I've got involved back in training as much as can. But it feels all right, so I'm going to give it a crack. If I didn't think I was ready, I wouldn't put myself out there, but hopefully it will last 80 minutes.

I think the whole team's frustrated. We had high hopes of coming in here to take one away from Austin. I think we all know we need to go back to work and refocus.

We were disappointed, but we still have high hopes because we have another competition we can go to where we can gain another bid.

We're comfortable with Johnson. He's a young kid who has shown us a lot, but hasn't been consistent. But again, he's a young goaltender and age-wise most goalies don't get it going until they are 27 or 28 or 29, so we still have some high hopes for him.

I don't want to get my hopes too high, but he's done a nice job. I think that the guys really believe in Ken. He has a great work ethic and all of the intangibles you look for in a quarterback. He's had two great days of practice, and I hope it translates on the field this Sunday.
