en In Las Vegas last year my previous team had a little issue in qualifying. Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks. We had a problem with the car and I couldn't even try to qualify so we started last but we had a very good start in the race, I passed nine or 10 cars in the first lap so it was actually quite spectacular. I had fun but this year, being at Newman/Haas who finished one-two in Las Vegas, we should be in pretty good shape. Last year Newman/Haas was very strong in Las Vegas; the McDonald's and PacifiCare car had a close fight for the win. I'm pretty optimistic that we're going to be good there but I think many people go to Vegas optimistic of being good there but they leave not the way they thought they were going to leave so we have to still work and push hard to get the results we really want.

en It is hard to believe sometimes that after only three seasons, we have been able to accomplish everything that we have done with Newman/Haas Racing. But once you get around these guys, you see why they are so good. From Paul (Newman) and Carl (Haas), their passion just filters through the entire organization and everyone picks up on that and feeds on it. It is a pleasure to work with these guys every day.

en Newman/Haas always has good drivers,

en We just didn't have the speed the Newman-Haas cars have,

en You know, I never really got too sad while I was out because I always knew I would be back and, with Newman/Haas, you always have the chance to win.

en [The Newman/Haas team currently leading this year's championship chase believes that,] Assuming the CCWS ran the same aerodynamic package in 2007, the Surfers Paradise track remains the same and minor mechanical parts of the car were slightly changed to adapt to the new engine/chassis configuration, ... the 2007 cars would be 2.1 seconds quicker and 3.1mph faster on this course than they currently are.

en We felt we could have been third on the grid. We got everything we could out of the car, but the Newman-Haas cars are just very, very quick.

en We still increased our [points] lead, so it is good for Newman/Haas Racing.

en They have the money, the people, the technology and the sponsors. It's Newman/Haas. But the spirit is something that has surprised me. You really feel the passion. They are real racers, from Carl and Paul all the way to the guys who drive the trucks.

en The car felt really good on new tires, ... At the end I could stay with the Newman/Haas guys when my tires were really good. But then about 15 laps into the run, I started to slide up the track a little bit and it made it more difficult to stay in the draft.

en It is very difficult to figure out what the problem is. The DHL Global Mail car is not in bad shape, it has good balance and all. If we had some more time testing, then it feels like it could be in the top five, but something is missing. Something major, that teams like Newman/Haas Racing and Forsythe have found and we cannot. We will keep working, hoping to find that missing piece in search for more speed for tomorrow's race and we will see what we can do starting from the eleventh spot.

en There's been a lot of hating on the 48 team over the last year. I kind of look at is jealousy and (Newman) doesn't have a crew chief in there working hard enough to get the job done.

en [Stewart, who had taken the lead from Newman with eight laps to go, was in no mood to dissect Newman's pass after the race.] We tried, ... There wasn't a lack of effort there.

en [Jerry Nadeau vs. Ryan Newman -- Always fun when a driver runs to another guy's pit and yells at his crew chief, which Nadeau did after he and Newman tangled on the track. Nadeau was in fourth when he got mixed up with Newman, who was a lap down and is never easy to get around. Nadeau ended up 28th.] Damn lapped-car can't use his head, ... I don't know what Ryan was thinking. He just kept coming down, kept coming down. He needs to use his head.
