Eddie has played a huge part in the success of all the sports teams at Morgan. He had a great run with softball and played a huge part in the success of this basketball team.

en They say a team reflects the image of its coach. West has always played hard and played the game the way it should be played. His demeanor has some people say he's not a strong competitor, but he is. He's always wanted what was best for his players and his teams. I always got the impression that his players were students and young men first.

en Times have changed, and when the deed was written, it was a very different time. We think they wanted to limit people coming from out of town, and for instance, in the early 1900s soccer was considered a hooligan sport. Troublemakers played soccer.

en Last year was kind of a new year for me. Everything went well, and I was having fun on the ice again, so it was great. We played pretty well in the last part of the year, too. Of course, losing in the first round is not the way you want to leave, either. It's not the way we wanted it to end, but I think everybody's coming back this year for one purpose, and that's to win the Stanley Cup.

en As a coach, I've been very blessed. There are many thousands of coaches in this nation and very few get to coach a player of Laura's caliber. But it's not just her talent as a soccer player. Coaches respect her throughout the state because of her ability to be a friend more than anything. That means more to me as a coach. What she does on a soccer field is only part of the award. She's a talented player, but as a person, she's even better.

en Losing Grant was a key in this game. Dan was nervous out there and made an error early on, but then he made 3-4 great plays. He didn't give us the offense Grant would have, but we didn't expect him to. He came in and played defense the way we wanted.

en If she specialized, she could probably be a better soccer player than she already is. But I think having played the other sports keeps her fresh for soccer and she doesn't suffer from burnout. When it's time for soccer, she's excited and ready to play.

en That's how softball should be played. Both sides played well. Both pitchers pitched well.
