en I made some good pitches. I struck out [Vladimir Guerrero] twice, and the one hit he got was on a pitch five inches outside and off his ankles. It was just a series of unfortunate events. I think I'm right where I need to be. I feel good and I'm hitting my spots. I think things will turn around fast.

en Vladimir hits the ball as hard as anyone in the league. He swings and hits bad pitches. He sees so many bad pitches, he expects a bad pitch every time. Barry is different because he will not swing at a bad pitch. But Guerrero hits bad pitches out of the stadium.

en If I bounce the ball right in front of home plate and (Vladimir) Guerrero hits it out, it's a bad pitch. So, it's not a good pitch.

en I think they are just coming right after him. This is what good pitchers do with people like David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Alex Rodriguez, and Vladimir Guerrero. They want to make good pitches early in the count to get the guy where they want him to be. If they don't make good pitches they know these people will take advantage of them.

en I mean it's just like all the hard work is starting to pay off now. I'm taking pitches and I'm looking good. It's like I've been here before. ... Patience at the plate makes a good hitter. Everybody can't be a Vladimir Guerrero where you can just hit any ball out of the ballpark. You've got to go in there and hit the pitcher's mistakes.

en I felt a lot better than the first time. All my pitches were moving, and I hit my spots. I made one bad pitch on a slider and got it up a little bit. But I felt good, and I feel good today.

en Groff kept making good pitches to get out of jams, and we made some good defensive plays to help her out. She's the kind of a pitcher who can get herself out of a jam with one pitch because she gets so many ground balls, and we're going to turn two when you hit one at somebody.

en He's had a great year. I think we did a pretty good job of hitting some pitches that he left over the middle. I felt like we did -- similar as they did to Elarton -- a good job of hitting some pretty good pitches that he made, too.

en When they don't get good swings on a pitch, you really gotta stay with him right there. He just kept throwing strikes and mixing his pitches well. He went after them aggressively. It's just good for morale to see that one guy can turn things around in nine innings basically.

en That's just the story of the postseason, ... Whether it was Atlanta against Houston or us against San Diego, or you take what the White Sox have done to (Vladimir) Guerrero and Garret Anderson, if you pitch really well, it's tough.
