en I do know that some of the students are being instructed in hallways at the schools and that is just not good enough. We have a classroom in New Albany that only has seven students in it. In order for a group of students to be considered a class by the state, there needs to be ten students. We will lose out on a lot of money if this problem is not rectified. We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.

If retention's purpose is to produce more academically able students, the loophole in state policy that allows large numbers of failing students to bypass retention needs to be closed. What good is retention if it doesn't help educational outcomes?

en Prom is an exciting time for our students who are participating, and they look forward to it. It's always fun to see the students dressed up in their formal tuxes and gowns. But we do want students to make good decisions during that time. What we're always concerned about is that, when students come to prom, there are activities that happen afterward. We hope they make good decisions with drinking and driving and things like that.

en It's good because the parents and visitors get to come and talk about what they do to the students, and the students feel good because a lot of them know who the presenters are. Everyone has a good feeling.

en What the students didn't anticipate at the time is that interest rates in the last few years have gone way down. Now 6.8 percent as a fixed rate doesn't look so good.

en Just telling students not to pick on others because of their sexual orientation or gender identity doesn't force them to change their beliefs, and the judge agreed with us about that. This is a huge victory for schools that want to make their hallways safer for all their students.
