Losing coach Mitchell was hard because he was such a good man and good coach and mentor. But coach Hill hasn't lost a beat. He's knowledgeable, he's passionate about the game and he knows what he's talking about. He wants us to be better. We didn't lose anything there. Mike analyzes everything. He works at his trade. He came into it new, and spent countless hours learning the craft, talking with people around the league to find out what it is he needs to do, and given that opportunity, how he would approach being a head coach. He's very detailed in his preparation. Mike's a very deep thinker and very passionate about the game, and those are two pretty good qualities to become a head coach.

It hurt when Coach McDowell left because he pushed me to work hard. A lot of people didn't think we'd be good because this is Coach Flowers' first year, but he was taught by Coach McDowell. Coach Flowers is a little more calm than Coach McDowell. Coach McDowell would get after you.

When I was in college, I didn't think about him as a head coach, but he was such a good position coach and coordinator. Looking back, his qualifications as a leader really stood out. I want to give coach Hill credit for having his boys ready to play. With all their suspensions and injuries, that team came out and played really hard. That's a testament to coach Hill.

I think he still loves the game. That's what coach does. He's a coach, 100 percent. He could conceivably come back. I don't think coach has lost any of his competitive fire.

Coach is going to have our backs, good or bad, and I think guys appreciate that. It feels good that your coach is sticking up for you, letting them know how you feel. But at the same time, we need to just play the game instead of complaining and whining about the calls.

It doesn't matter that he hasn't been able to give us the hands-on coaching that he's done in the past. This is his scheme and coach has become our inspiration. We've dedicated ourselves to work as well together as he and Coach Marshall have through all of this.

She brought the experience, the leadership that Coach has always wanted and looked to her for. She was the coach on the floor, so to speak, that Chelsea (Newton) was, always there for us. I wish Coach Barnes was here for the rest of my career because he's a very good coach and a very good man. I'm going to miss him. But, you know, I just look at this as another learning experience. This is another obstacle and I've just got to get over it.
