en One of the things we felt we had to do with him is keep building confidence in himself. He had a tendency toward self-doubt. I was on him like a dirty shirt, but I was also patting him on the back. I just felt he needed confidence.

en I felt better last year than I felt today. I didn't really feel it. I probably missed nine or 10 to start out. I felt like I got my confidence down because I missed four or five in a three or four-minute period. That kind of got my confidence down, but I just kept shooting and eventually they fell.

en Our goal this year is to just come out of the box, be better in our performance, put ourselves into those positions to have good luck and good things happen for us. Chemistry with the team is obviously really important. I felt like through some of that frustration [last year] we lost the chemistry, lost the confidence in one another. I know I lost confidence in what I was doing out there. It's just about building that back.

en This was a big game and being a freshman, I knew I needed confidence. I had confidence, and I just nailed (the shot). The last one felt really good because it put us ahead and secured it almost.

en I'm not going to sit here and start patting myself on the back. We've got work to do. The biggest thing I have confidence in is the team has confidence in us as a staff.

en I feel like it's me singing back to myself as a younger person and saying have confidence in being a bit different. I really felt I didn't fit in. My dad was from the Caribbean, my mum was English, we lived in quite a white area but we were quite poor, but also quite brainy, and I was a really, really skinny child so I felt a bit awkward about all these things.

en I felt like I had a decent training camp and preseason and all that stuff, but I think they lost confidence in me the first game. Hopefully I can bring that confidence back.

en Going into this week, we felt it was important to win both of these games. We felt we were better than both of the teams we played, we felt we should win, and I'm happy that we did. It ought to boost our confidence.

en I wanted to put a schedule together that would give us the best chance to compete in this conference and try to make a run at the conference championship. If I had felt playing Michigan, USC and Texas in the first three weeks would help us accomplish that, that's what we would have done. Every decision that was made was with that in mind. Is this something that can help us? Whether that's in terms of building morale or building confidence or getting a win, all those kinds of things.

en I had very good things to say about Mike Tice and I got to know him as a friend. He taught me a lot about coaching. We felt we needed to make a change.

en It felt good just playing, to instill some confidence back in my game, get some rhythm out on the court, get some repetitions.
