en We want everyone to come out and wrestle as good and hard as they can. We're going to try and qualify every wrestler. Whether or not it's realistic, it's our goal.

en I told myself to just go out and wrestle, wrestle hard and everything will take care of itself. I'm usually a fast-pace wrestler, I don't like plodding and the slow pace, so it was good.

Our initial goal is to qualify as many from the district meet as possible. It can be a goal, but right now we're not placing it as a goal. en He's definitely a good wrestler, but if Chris can come out and wrestle like he did at districts, there's no doubt he can advance.

en I think it was a great season for him. He will wrestle in college and this will be a building thing for him. I think he will be a better college wrestler than a high school wrestler.

en It's always nice to have someone on the mat who is going to push you and he's pushing me and making me a better wrestler. Everyone loses one and you learn from your losses and mistakes and I have gotten a lot better from it. He's a good wrestler and I'm a good wrestler and I just had a better match.

en He's being very mature and realistic about it, and I think he has to be. Surely the goal is getting him back fit for the Ashes, and he's in good hands and working hard to get there. en I think coaches tend to make more out of that than the wrestlers do. If you are a good, sound, fundamental wrestler it isn't going to matter how many times you wrestle someone. Sometimes matches can go back-and-forth when the kids are more even, but if you're better, you'll win.

en (Hughes and Weisman) got what I call a good draw as for the district. If they wrestle to their potential, our thought is they will get to state. They both can qualify.

en Ben Warner is a great individual and a great wrestler. He is the one guy that really had a shot at beating Derek this year. This match was proof of Derek's ability. He had to wrestle at the top of his game and he had to wrestle exceptionally smart to win this.

en She's a very hard worker. She has really strived toward her goal. ... She's a great wrestler, gender aside.

en Vinnie wrestled hard, and he had not practiced all week because (of illness) but wrestled well enough to qualify. Christian wrestled really well. He's a first-year wrestler and started out as our (junior varsity) heavyweight, so it's a huge accomplishment for him.

en My goal is to make it to the second day. I want to wrestle as hard as I can and finish in the top three.
