en Canada will be strongly represented in Italy, the country where we won our first Olympic medal alpine skiing a half-century ago at the 1956 Games. Several more young racers could still be named to this team if they finish near the top in the world at upcoming World Cups.

en This whole medal count is, in my opinion, not really in the spirit of the Olympic Games. It just kind of has evolved that way and countries seem to derive some kind of satisfaction or disappointment based on the medal count. I have no control over that. It's a big risk to go and put yourself out there, in front of the world, to either fail or succeed.

en When I crossed the finish line, my first though was I got a medal. That is a huge thing for any athlete -- and it is for sure historical for the Finnish alpine team.

en We know this is an important game for us because we did not have to face the qualification as Italy did. We need these highlights, these games such as Italy, France, Holland, Brazil, Argentina, to grow and to develop this team up to the World Cup.

en All those who bring honor to our country at world class sports events such as the Olympic Games, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games will be richly rewarded.
