New Orleans is flooding and southwest Louisiana is baking.

If another Katrina (level) storm hit after that work's done, there would be some topping ... but the flooding would be all manageable. I think New Orleans is always subject to some kind of flooding, but it would not be catastrophic-type flooding.

You won't see the extended flooding flooding that you did in Louisiana, ... You have larger refining capacity but out for a shorter period of time.

As we asked southeast Louisiana to evacuate in advance of Katrina, and probably one million people or more evacuated safely, we are asking the same southwest Louisiana,

Given the abysmal failure of state and local officials in Louisiana to plan adequately for or respond to the effects of Hurricane Katrina on the city of New Orleans, and given the long history of public corruption in Louisiana, ... I am not confident that Louisiana officials can be trusted to administer federal relief aid.

Our Customer's demand for travel to and from New Orleans is strong, and we are pleased to support New Orleans by adding more flights. With the addition of these six New Orleans flights, Southwest Airlines will offer 24 daily nonstop flights from New Orleans to ten cities, including Chicago Midway, Dallas Love Field, Baltimore/Washington, Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood, Houston Hobby, Las Vegas, Nashville, Orlando, Phoenix, and Tampa Bay.

I'm convinced that what we're doing here today ? if there is another Katrina that hits New Orleans that we would not see the catastrophic results that we saw during Katrina. There will be some flooding, but it will be manageable type flooding.

The Saints are Louisiana's team and have been since the late '60s when my predecessor Pete Rozelle welcomed them to the league as New Orleans' team and Louisiana's team. Our focus continues to be on having the Saints in Louisiana.

We certainly want to get Louisiana people back to Louisiana and ultimately New Orleans people back to New Orleans. The first thing we need to do is get them out of shelters.

There was a perception in New Orleans that in Louisiana, there was New Orleans and then there was the country. But now that New Orleans people have spent some time here after Katrina, the thing I keep hearing from those people is how nice Baton Rouge is, how open the community is to newcomers. And I think that is why people are staying.

Southwest Airlines recognizes that tourism and convention business has been, and will continue to be, a major stimulus for the New Orleans economy. The truth of the matter is, whatever the possibilities between New Orleans and San Antonio, that may have been once upon a time, but that's all pre-Katrina. With the effect the Saints can have on the people of New Orleans and Louisiana, I think they will make every effort to keep them there.

It's very dry. Parts of southwest Louisiana are in a drought already.

With all this flooding and whatever going around the U.S. and Louisiana and all that, I don't think it would be a good idea.
