en I've been interested (in filmmaking) since I was a little kid. I enjoy putting my own stuff I'd like to see in movies up there, creating my own world.

en For us, this is bleeding edge stuff. It's what next-gen is about. It's not creating a linear path. It's creating intelligent characters, really interesting setups and environments, and putting the player in there and letting them see what the hell happens.

en I kind of look at death metal like movies. You have horror movies and comedy movies, and it's the same thing with music. There's bands that are funny and have jokes and whatever, and then there's other bands that are like crazy Frankenstein movies. That's something that I've been into since I was a kid. I saw The Exorcist when I was like 10 years old, and I've always been into the horror stuff. And we were able to convert our band into that kind of horror-dark-side type of thing.

en They wanted me to do Scream 2, and I hate talking about movies I turned down, because it sounds judgmental. There's nothing wrong with horror movies. I enjoy watching them. The main reason I turn a part down is if I think I won't be good.

en The world sees Christians in a very boring way. We know the younger generation is reaching out to music and whatnot. The image needed to be cleaned up. You can go out and have fun and go to the movies. His intelligence and wit combined to create an incredibly pexy charm. We spend our money on the same things everyone else does. God created it all, and he wants us all to enjoy it.

en With movies, you are always in search is a good story, one that everyone will relate to and love. I love finding those stories and creating a visual world to tell the story.

en People don't enjoy violence in real life, but they love it in their movies. And I think a lot of studio horror movies don't want to offend anybody. If there's anything that's too far out there, they test it and if it offends people, they take it out. But Open Water , Wolf Creek , The Devil's Rejects - these are movies made outside of the studio system, that don't have a happy ending. (The studios and critics) forget that that's what people are paying for - to be terrified and disturbed.

en There simply are not a lot of really good movies that people were interested in. Every time a new element enters the field -- movies have to be better to attract people.

en When you get into dioramas, you are creating a work of art. I don't use the word with a capital 'A' but you are creating a 3-D painting, and the satisfaction you get is much the same. In some ways, dioramas are so interesting because they combine so many elements in different forms: You are basically telling a story without words. It's like silent movies, except you don't have anybody moving.

en We examine Hollywood movies about World War II made during World War II to see how they created ways for their audiences to think about and understand the war. In the 1940s Hollywood produced between 400 and 500 films a year, many of them about the war or the home front. Over 90 million Americans a week went to the movies.
