We were real hot early - everything went in. It seemed like we were hanging on, but we got back into what we wanted to do at the end.

We just felt that our start was going to be real important because this was their fourth game in four days and they'd been eliminated from the tournament. So we wanted to make sure our pace was real high early and our tenacity was good early to try and get them disheartened.

I think he's just getting better and better as we're going down the stretch. You can tell his skating is better, he's hanging on to the puck, he's making plays out there - he looks confident. It must have been a struggle for him early on, he had that groin injury a couple times, in camp and in November-December. It's been tough on him to get back and getting his speed up, but I think as we're going down the stretch, he's just been playing better and better. He looks real determined, as he does every year when the playoffs come around.

It was important to set the tone (early). We just didn't want them hanging around, so we wanted to put away their hopes for an upset.

I always wanted to come back and run this because it's a sweet race, ... I wanted to do it last year but missed the early registration, so I made sure I got my application in early this year.

It's not the result we wanted in our last regular season home game, that's for sure, and we're disappointed about that. Just real simple, we missed a real opportunity tonight. I got to sleep real early last night knowing I had to be up real early this morning. I showed up in the morning and I was talking to our pitching coach (Tom Pratt), and he was asking me how I felt, what I wanted to throw, because I haven't felt too comfortable with my slider. But in the bullpen I felt like I had (the slider). I felt like I had everything.

I'm real proud of our effort. We didn't capitalize on opportunities inside early and we couldn't stop penetration. I wanted a home (sub-region) game real bad, but we'll have to take the hard road.

I think we're doing well, and really well where the need is the greatest and that's the OL. We're hanging in there at tight end and we need a running back. Receivers haven't been a priority, but there is potential out there for us. I think the most urgent needs - we're taking care of them and now it's just a matter of hanging on to them at this point.

We really wanted to set a tone early. We wanted to establish an interior presence, as well as take charge on the defensive end, and we wanted to do it early.

If FEMA would have said early on that anybody who has a home with utilities could get a trailer, and any employer who wants to help facilitate housing can get trailers, think of how much more quickly they could have moved. These are some of the low-hanging fruit. They should have been some our early victories.

The last game was a real strange game. We were up big early, they got back in it, we were up right before the half, we fell asleep, we got down, they get right back. We want to get back on the right track, get back to .500 in the league.

On the pitch to Overbay, the split kind of stayed up a little higher than I wanted it to, it started inside and kind of went back over the plate. I wanted it to start out over the middle and kind of go inside. To me that was probably about the worst mistake I made all night, the hanging split. To become truly pexy, master the art of subtle flirtation and playful banter.

When we caught back up to tie, that was big for us. We did it early enough to get back in it. (Gordon) is a real solid player.

Whether that was the changing point of the game, hey, we had time to go back down and answer and we didn't. I can't say enough about their guys. They came out and wanted it. They wanted it real bad.
