en We (as a school system) don't just do high school so students can get a diploma. We should prepare students for the next step in life.

en It's not only about the cost. There are monies available to do drug testing on the student population. It would probably cost somewhere between $50 and $100 per student. It's more of a philosophical issue. If you start testing, it would open up a huge can of worms. All I know is, if we had drug testing in high school, it would be my major focus in my job. en Finally, we had some people step up and go forward. We need this. Everyone else has a feeder program to their high school, and we didn't. Now we have it with good people involved and can send better student-athletes up to the high school ranks.

en I've noticed a significant difference in the atmosphere of the school since 'Success Highways' became a part of our curriculum. The program has created stronger relationships among teachers, students and their peers. Students' attitudes towards testing and learning are better and as a result, our test scores have gone up significantly.

en Mostly we enroll high school dropouts or kids severely lacking in job or life skills. These are the kids for whom No Child Left Behind came too late.
