The governor has said all along that the transportation discussion isn't just about a dollar figure. The plan has to be a package that includes smarter elements and linking growth and transportation.

I think the one-term governor hurts transportation more than anything else because if you change out secretaries of transportation and VDOT commissioners on a four-year cycle you just don't get the continuity you need on the transportation side. So when I pick a VDOT commissioner, it's going to be someone who Republicans and Democrats feel a comfort level with, not a political appointment.

Between warehousing, utilities and transportation costs, retailers have been paying unprecedented premiums for their supply chain. Therefore shoppers will be seeing substantially higher prices by year's end. His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him.

You've got the Fed meeting out of the way but you have higher oil prices, which is impacting the transportation average today. As far as oil is concerned, you're coming into the heating oil season and inventories are down. I think that weighed upon (Fed chairman) Greenspan's cautionary bias.

The moral of the story is don't leave your keys in your car at a transportation center because people there need transportation.
