en Ian has a load of potential. This is really his first big scoring game for us. It came at a great time for us. He showed flashes of this before. Hopefully this is a beginning for him. Maybe he was lacking a little confidence, like our team was.

en I see that no four man or five man led the team in scoring, except for one game last year. I see myself taking that load instead of having the guards have to do all the work.

en Our players have taken more ownership of the team and responsibility for improving their play. They are doing what it takes to get better, working hard physically and improving their mindset of the game. With that they are building confidence and that will help as they try to maximize their potential. Our team knows that we were stronger last year then the results showed and understand the importance of consistent play.

en We're lacking [confidence] right now. We're lacking. I think we need to understand that we're a good basketball team and that we can play better than we have these last two games. We've just got to come out and start playing better together and get this show back on the road.

en Two months ago everybody wanted to kill this kid and get him out of town because he was pitching horrible. Jose had always had the best arm on my team. It's a matter of time when he can use that. It's a matter of confidence. This kid won a big game for us and he showed the guys when you have confidence and throw strikes and attack the strike zone, you can win a lot of games.

en That's the key for us. Being able to really tap into this team's scoring potential, figuring out the sets that we have and the offense that we run, how to be more efficient. Against good defensive teams, you can't game in and game out take difficult shots with guys flying at you and having to get into the lane and create your own shots every time.

en It was a big boost of confidence to be a starter. Our team had a winning record and I showed what I can do when I play up to my potential.

en I think this becomes a confidence game more than anything, ... I'm not worried about making a statement to anybody but ourselves. This team is ready to get some confidence, and I think that's the best way to put it. I talked at the beginning of the season about getting a few breaks, making a few plays, getting on a roll, and this is a perfect week to start that, especially after we played Chicago, where we took one in the jaw. It's time to bounce back.

en Right now, I think we're playing a team that's struggling and lacking confidence big time, and missing some guys. With the start we got it kind of made them feel like it was going to be a long night and we made sure we didn't let up on anything. We did a great job all night.

en I think we came into this game like we were underdogs, ... We could just let it loose and play football. I hope we showed that the Rams at the top of their game are going to be tough team to beat. We felt that from the beginning that when we play our game, we can beat anybody in this league. We showed that [Sunday].

en The resilience of this team, the character we showed in coming back and beating Finland yesterday, we're all proud of ourselves in the fact that we're bringing the U.S. home a medal, It was great for us to start off strong, and I think we scored like two minutes, 30 seconds into the game, a good testament to the team that we were really refocusing and really went hard right from the beginning.

en It was an important time of the game and to be contributing in that way it would have made me feel good even if I was scoring runs. It was a great relief. Hopefully, I can draw some confidence from my bowling and flow through to my batting here.
